First do you run stock timing? 2nd do you have problems with the ing system? 3rd what is you timing set at? 4th do you run straight water, or a water/alc mixture? 5th what do your plugs look like? thanks all. I have seen so much wierd crap from my car. I am just looking for what everybody eles's cars are doing and how they are behaving. I have some strange issues and I want to get some feedback. When I run a 50%water and 50% alc mixture I get black plugs! At some times I get a misfire, like its dropping a cly or two. Let me remind you I am running tha BKR7E-11 plugs(yes the wide gap) cause this was sent to me. I wanted the BKR7E but did not get it so I guess im screwed. anywho let me know what you guys see and also on a side note do you think I should still use water inj with the I/C. thanks

I run stock timing and at least a 50/50 mix of alcohol to water (denatured, methonal and ethonal) I too did have problems with spark after doing some reading found that it does put a larger demand on the ignition system I went to the bosh F6dp vice the ngk bkr7e-11 and a .030 gap and do not have any more problems. As far as running W/I with a intercooler the domestics do it all the time just make sure the water is inj after the intercooler or it will have neg afects.

I have my timing at factory. My BTC is one click away from the left. Does mixing alcohol help? I'm just running water. Also, how often should the water be injected. I have it set where it would spurt water about 2 seconds in each gear. Should I have it where there's a constant stream of water?

the latest jpn lancer evo has water sprayers on the intercooler that can be controled / actuated from the cockpit . i dont know about the sti wrx , but the special edition (sti 286 ?) from a few years ago used them . water sprayers will decrease temperatures through evaporation when a fine mist is applied to a metal surface like an intercooler . water will absorb heat from any solid object it contacts warmer then itself , even you and me .

Doesn't the Subaru WRX STi come with water sprayers on the intercooler?
